Cheslie Kryst’s Mom Breaks Silence After Daughter’s Death
Cheslie Kryst’sApril Simpkins, April Simpkins’ mother, has opened up about her loss of her daughter. For the first time, she’s taken to social media, speaking about the former Miss USA’s tragic death. She blogs on social networks.
“I have never known a pain as deep as this. I am forever changed. Today was the official confirmation of what my family and friends knew to be the cause of Cheslie’s death. While it may be hard to believe, it’s true. Cheslie lived a private and public life. In her private life, she was dealing with high-functioning depression which she hid from everyone — including me, her closest confidant — until very shortly before her death.”
She explains how close she was to her daughter of 30 years.
“Cheslie — to the world, you were a ball of sunshine wrapped in smiles. We texted, FaceTimed, and talked all day, every single day. You were more than a daughter — you were my very best friend. Talking to you was one the best parts about my day. Your smile and laugh were infectious,” she continued. “I love you baby girl with all my heart. I miss you desperately. I know one day we’ll be together again. Until then, rest easy and in peace.”
She also stated,
