
Please, drum roll! CherSurprise appearance at Balmain’s spring 2023 show during Paris Fashion Week. It left audience members stunned.
The 76-year-old singer closed the event on Wednesday, September 28 by walking down the runway in a futuristic casuit. The look was edgy and featured a corset bodice with gloved sleeves, knee pads, and gloves. The singer paired the piece with platform boots and wore her trademark jet black hair in loose curls. She also wore soft pink lips and electric blue eyeshadow.
As she graced the catwalk, her hit “Strong Enough” played in the background, according to videos shared via social media. At the end of the runway, she shared a warm embrace with the label’s creative director Olivier Rousteing — and the crowd went wild.
Models included in the latest Balmain collection looked as if they were a work of Art. Ashley Graham, debuted sculptural dresses, asymmetrical skirts, whimsical suits, mosaic-patterned frocks and edgy accessories — all in earthy shades like cocoa, tawny, sage and taupe.
Rousteing, 36: Explained VogueThe line was inspired by nature, as he used fabrics made from banana and paper. “We all saw climate change this summer. We all saw fires across the globe. And coming back with a show in September, thinking about whether our pants are going to be high-waisted or low-waisted — it seems a bit futile to me.”
He added: “I have friends who tell me they don’t want to have kids, because what will our world be like tomorrow? And at the end of the day, it’s not about taste. It’s not about aesthetics.”
The show was attended to by Kylie Jenner, Chiara Ferragni Neymar. Jenner, 25, who attended along with her best friend Stassie KaranikolaouThe woven mini dress featured a plunging neckline with a see-through design and showed off her curves. Karanikolaou, 25, wore a similar look in deeper colors.
Paris Fashion Week started on Monday September 26th, and will end Tuesday October 4. Balmain was not the only brand to present new designs. Christian Dior, Saint Laurent and The Row also presented new designs. Later in the week, new pieces will be displayed by Valentino and Coperni, Givenchy as well as Chanel, Chanel, Hermes, Chanel, Balenciaga and Hermes.
