One of the most famous cereal brands in the world, Cheerios, has just taken major action to bring awareness to a very serious issue.
Cheerios just announced they are no longer going to print images of their honey bee mascot, named "Buzz", on their packaging.
As the U.S. bee population declines at an alarming rate, Cheerios has chosen to use this marketing stunt to raise awareness for bees. They also pledged a campaign to give away 1 million wildflower seeds to anyone who would like to plant them and help restore the bee population.
Customers responded in an amazing way! Cheerios is now upping their give away to send 1.5 billion seeds to everyone who requested them! Bees are an extremely crucial part of our environment and their decline directly impacts the earth, including us as humans.
