Cause of Death Revealed After Notorious Mob Boss Dies in Prison

The cause of death for a notorious mob boss is now being revealed. 89-year-old James "Whitey" Bulger died while in prison this past October.

Bulger is infamous for running an organized crime ring in and around Boston. He was recently portrayed in a Hollywood movie by Johnny Depp.

Now, police are revealing information concerning how he died. According to reports, Whitey died from injuries he sustained from other inmates who beat him inside his prison cell.

"The death of Bulger, who was a fugitive for 16 years and sentenced to life in prison in 2013, came after he was moved from a prison in Florida and had a stop in Oklahoma City before arriving at the high-security facility in West Virginia," reported Fox News.

The death is being ruled a homicide by officials. At this time, the man, or men, responsible for his killing have not yet been charged. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
