On Thursday, February 8th, Vice President Mike Pence was initially scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the annual National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. The all-day event, which includes guests from around the world, focuses on “forming and fortifying relationships with prayer as the cornerstone,” according to the website.

However, Pence had to cancel his speaking slot after confirming his attendance at this year’s Winter Olympic Games alongside the father of late Otto Warmbier. Pence’s replacement was announced Tuesday, February 6th.

The starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles—Carson Wentz—is now the keynote speaker, reported TMZ. He will wrap up the event as the dinner speaker.

This exciting news comes after a series of life-changing moments for Wentz. His team, the Philadelphia Eagles, earned the championship title in this year’s Super Bowl. Although Wentz did not play due to a season-ending injury that occurred prior to the playoffs, Wentz supported his teammates at the sporting event.

In addition to their historic Super Bowl win, Wentz also got engaged to his girlfriend. Photos of his romantic proposal were shared on social media.

According to WDAZ, the National Prayer Breakfast takes place on the same day as the Philadelphia Eagles’ victory parade. It is assumed that Wentz will attend both celebrations.
