On Sunday night, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz's season ran into a snag. During a game with the Los Angeles Rams, he tore his ACL.
On Monday night, he took to Twitter to let his fans know how his recovery is going. Instead of being angry, he shared a faith-filled perspective on the injury.
"It’s humbling to know how many people are praying for me. I know Jesus has a plan through it," said Wentz.
He went on to say he believes that God is using this injury as a teaching moment. He firmly believes that his injury—while regrettable—is apart of God's plan.
"He’s trying to grow me in something, teach me something, use me somehow, some way. This will be a great testament going forward. I can say with 100 percent confidence as a follower of Jesus that I have the utmost confidence in His plan. His plan is perfect," said Wentz in the video.
He added an especially insightful comment: "If we got everything we wanted in life, it would be a disaster. He knows what he’s doing."
Wentz went on to he’d stay with the team going forward for the rest of the season. He also promised that this will not stop him; he'll come back stronger than ever.
He also added that he has confidence in the Eagles to continue accomplishing their goals—even without him being able to play.
He finished his video by thanking everyone for their prayers and words of encouragement.
