There’s more exciting news for the Philadelphia Eagles following their historic Super Bowl win against the New England Patriots—one of their star players is engaged!

Star quarterback Carson Wentz, who unfortunately did not play in the Super Bowl after suffering a season-ending injury, proposed to his girlfriend Maddie Oberg. Wentz posted the news on social media Tuesday morning.

The Eagles’ starting quarterback wrote, “She said YES! And now Maddie and I both got us a ring. Can’t wait to marry my best friend!”

He continued by praising God for this wonderful blessing, “God is doing some amazing things and I can’t thank him enough!”

Wentz’s post contained several adorable photos of the romantic proposal. The two appeared to be on a candlelit rooftop when Wentz got down on one knee.

Although Wentz did not play in the Super Bowl this year, he attended the game to support his team. Wentz and the backup quarterback, MVP Nick Foles, shared a beautiful moment in celebration after the big game.
