34-year-old Grammy award-winning country music star Carrie Underwood suffered an unfortunate incident only days after she co-hosted this year’s Country Music Awards. On Friday, November 10th, she fell on the steps outside of her home, which resulted in several injuries including a broken wrist.
On November 14th, the “Jesus Take The Wheel” singer had to undergo surgery for her wrist, forcing her to take a step back from the public eye as she recovers. Her husband has been extremely supportive since the incident.
Initially, Underwood publicly thanked her husband Mike Fisher, who reportedly flew home right away to take care of her. She called her hockey-playing husband “the best hubby in the world.”
Shortly after the accident, Fisher posted a heartwarming message on Instagram for his wife and their supporters. He thanked fans for their love and support, but ultimately, praised God in the midst of troubles.
He stated, “Thank you all for the tremendous love and support for Carrie over the last few days. I’m reminded that there are so many good people in this world.”
He continued, “I’m reminded that through our pain, fears and tough times God is with us and He’s painting a beautiful story through it all (Romans 8:28). Sometimes it’s hard to understand why things happen but we thank him and praise His name in the midst of it all!”
In related news, Underwood also missed the 2017 American Music Awards on Sunday, November 19th, where she received the winning title for “Favorite Female Country Artist.” Although the country star could not be present at the awards ceremony, she sent a very special thank you to her fans.
