Only days after Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher announced that they were expecting a second child, the superstar singer released the first photo of her and her growing baby bump.
The “Jesus Take the Wheel” singer released the photo on Instagram. The photo was taken backstage, showing her standing in the dark behind the curtain at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.
Underwood is cupping her new baby bump, visible through her sequin dress. Her silhouette is in clear view with the illuminated state of the packed theater visible behind her.
Only as recently as Wednesday, Underwood had announced the pregnancy, sharing it with her fans. She released that video on Instagram as well.
"Mike and Isaiah and I are absolutely over the moon and excited to be adding another little fish to our pond!" Underwood shared.
"This has just been a dream come true, with album and with baby news and all that stuff. We're just so excited, and just so glad that you guys can share in this with us,” she added.
According to Fox News, Underwood and Fisher, a former NHL star, already have a son, Isaiah, 3. The couple celebrated eight years of marriage last month. Underwood opened up recently about her changing family dynamics, and her hopes for having a bigger family.
"I’m 35, so we may have missed our chance to have a big family," Underwood told Redbook magazine. "We always talk about adoption and about doing it when our child or children are a little older."
