Grammy award-winning country music star Carrie Underwood suffered an unfortunate incident over the weekend, where she was “seriously injured.” This news comes only days after she co-hosted the 51st annual Country Music Awards.

Underwood reportedly fell on the steps outside of her home on Friday evening and had to be rushed to the hospital. Country Rebel confirmed that her injuries were serious, but not life-threatening.

After being admitted to the hospital, doctors stated that she had a broken wrist and several cuts and abrasions. Her husband took an immediate flight back to Nashville to take care of his wife.

According to the Tennessean, Underwood was forced to pull out of an upcoming benefit concert because of her injuries. The “Country Rising” benefit concert would have taken place Sunday night in Nashville with other big-time country artists including Sam Hunt, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban, and others.

The country singer responded via social media on Sunday morning. She thanked her fans for the well wishes and expressed her appreciation for her husband, retired professional hockey player Mike Fisher.

Prior to her fall, Underwood also made headlines for two eye-catching events that took place at the CMAs—her tear-jerking performance in honor of the Texas church massacre victims, and when her and co-host Brad Paisley came under fire for blasting President Trump on stage.

Please keep Carrie Underwood in your prayers as she recovers. Share your thoughts and prayers in our Facebook comments.
