One of today’s top music sensations recently canceled several upcoming concerts. Cardi B, a 26-year-old female rapper, reportedly canceled the shows over “strict doctor’s orders.”
Although Cardi B’s style caters to a niche of hip-hop fans and younger generations, she has made a successful name for herself in the world of music. The rap artist has won 75 awards over the years and been nominated for more than 140 others including Grammys.
According to PEOPLE, the cancellations came as a result of her recent plastic surgery. She allegedly had liposuction and other procedures after giving birth to her daughter, Kulture, last July.
“Cardi was overzealous in getting back to work; she didn’t take the time necessary to fully recover from her surgery,” a representative stated.
“Her strenuous schedule has taken a toll on her body and she has been given strict doctor’s orders to pull out of the rest of her performances in May,” the rep continued.
Cardi B does plan to reschedule the concerts to make it up to her fans. Official dates have not been set as of May 22, 2019.
“She’s very disappointed as she hates to let her fans down,” Cardi’s rep added. “She reassures them that she will see them in September.”
The rapper has not yet addressed the situation personally. If she does make a statement, this article will be updated accordingly.
