In an interview with Yahoo Celebrity, "The View" cohost Candace Cameron Bure talks about what it's like to stand up for her Christian faith and politically conservative beliefs when surrounded by liberal cohosts.
She expressed, “It’s such a new experience for me to be a co-host and be voicing my own personal opinions as opposed to being an actress.”
Did Candace speak out about her beliefs before "The View"?
“I never did [before] because I felt like I never had anything worthy to say and now that I’m talking about it every day I feel like … I’m a student," she said. "I just want to talk to everybody about it and hear their opinions and where they’re at and see a different point of view because I know I can bring that back to the table.”
And the presidential race has brought in a tsunami of people's opinions.
Candace reflect, “What a season to join, right in the middle of a political year! I kind of laugh at what I got myself into, but it’s really great. I get to stay up on politics and I’m learning more than I ever have. I think that one of the things I love about the show is [that] we have different viewpoints and, obviously, we’re all opinionated and strong. I’m not a closed-minded person, I definitely have specific opinions, but I love when people share with me theirs and it gives me food for thought. To me, that makes the world go round. — that maybe they open up my eyes to see something they didn’t see before.”
