On Tuesday, July 24th, news broke that young Christian actress Wynter Pitts suddenly passed away at only 38 years old. In addition to acting, Pitts was also recognized as an author, motivational speaker, and the founder of “For Girls Like You” ministry. As of Sunday, her cause of death has still not been released.
Candace Cameron Bure, 42, is one of many well-known Christian names who mourned Pitts’ unexpected death. The two were reportedly very close friends.
Over the weekend, Pitts’ funeral was held at Oaks Church in Red Oak, Texas, reported CBN News. Family and close friends, including Bure, were in attendance at the God-centered memorial service.
Following the service, Bure posted a tear-jerking tribute for Pitts. As she praised the late actress with words of kindness, she also shared a video of Pitts preaching — one that was played at her funeral.
“I am so thankful to have known Wynter Pitts...You made your mark, mama. You lived with such purpose,” Bure began. “You left a legacy, not only with your magazine and books, but with your husband and daughters and all of us who knew you or followed your ministry. There’s a ripple effect already happening and will continue to for generations. Well done, mama. Well done, friend.”
“Oh Wynter, to think of how prophetic your words were, three months ago. We had no idea how your gentle charge would spur us on, to be a generation of women willing to suffer and endure, to walk fearless and point people to Jesus,” the “Fuller House” star added. “We are forever changed by the legacy you left in 38 beautiful years. What a treasure to hear these words at the funeral tonight.”
Bure previously shared a photo of the two of them shortly after Pitts' death was announced to the public. Bure said she was “saddened beyond words” by her friend’s passing.
Please continue to pray for Pitts’ friends and family during this time. May God bring them peace and healing!
