On Tuesday, April 24th, Candace Cameron Bure’s new book, “Kind is the New Classy” was officially released. The faith-based book, where Bure shares several personal experiences, focuses on encouraging women to be classy through being kind.

Bure appeared on “The View” Tuesday morning to discuss the release of her latest book. On the show, she admitted that there were many times in her life where she struggled to show kindness, but thankfully, we are blessed with grace.

“We are able to make that choice [to be kind] every single day,” the Christian actress said. “We have grace, it’s renewed every day.”

The “Fuller House” star also opened up about one of the most difficult days she ever had on set. In December of 2015, Bure was so devastated about the tragic shooting in San Bernardino, California (near the schools where Bure’s kids attended at the time) that she spent several minutes in her closet crying.

“It was one of the hardest days on the show for me,” Bure stated. “All the schools were in lockdown, my kids were in school, their schools were on lockdown and I felt so far away. I felt like I was helpless because I couldn’t be with them.”

“I was crying. I didn’t know how to really cope with it. I was in my closet with the door shut, curled in a ball, crying and praying,” she said remembering how she didn’t know how she was going to pull herself together to go on live television.

“There was a very persistent knock at the door that I was hoping would go away, and it didn’t,” she continued. “When I opened the door it was Whoopi.”

As Bure teared up, she expressed her gratitude towards Whoopi for that special moment that day. Despite their differences in certain social and political issues, the two hugged as Bure cried. That one act of kindness changed Bure’s life forever.
