On Friday, June 8th, news broke that famed chef and television personality Anthony Bourdain, 61, tragically took his own life. As previously reported, he was discovered unresponsive in his hotel room on Friday morning.
Following his death, several well-known names paid a tribute to the late chef via social media including Gordon Ramsay and Erin Cunningham. Read their heartbreaking tributes here.
Additionally, Bourdain’s sudden death sparked a conversation about suicide prevention. His suicide took place only days after fashion icon Kate Spade also took her own life at 55 years old.
Candace Cameron Bure, “Fuller House” and Hallmark movie star who is widely recognized for her Christian faith, was one of many celebrities who took the opportunity to share some suicide prevention information. She also included a powerful message about God’s love in her statement.
“What a tragedy. You never know what’s going on inside. Suicide rates are up. Mental health matters,” Bure began. “Call 1-800-273-TALK(8255) talk to someone if you’re having these feelings.”
The Christian actress also assured her fans with a Biblical truth: “God loves you, you matter, He created you, you are loved, nothing is too big for God.”
