Actor Cameron Boyce, best known for his starring roles on Disney Channel including the show “Jessie” and the “Descendants” movies, tragically passed away on Saturday, July 6th. Boyce, who also acted alongside Adam Sandler in "Grown Ups," was only 20 years old at the time of his death.
As previously reported, he was found unresponsive in his sleep. Initial reports noted that he had a seizure before he passed; however, the official cause of death was not released until Wednesday, July 10th.
His family publicly confirmed prior reports that stated Boyce suffered from epilepsy, a disorder that causes seizures. The young television star’s cause of death was related to his medical condition, according to NBC News.
"Cameron's tragic passing was due to a seizure as a result of an ongoing medical condition, and that condition was epilepsy," a family spokesperson revealed. “We are still trying to navigate our way through this extremely heart wrenching time.”
The Boyce family also asked for privacy “so that the family, and all who knew and loved him can grieve his loss and make arrangements for his funeral—which in and of itself, is agonizing."
Please continue to pray for Boyce’s loved ones during this difficult time. May God bring them peace and comfort as they grieve. He will be missed by many.
