On July 6, actor Cameron Boyce died at the age of 20. According to reports, he was found by his roommates, Sophie Reynolds and Karan Brar.
In the wake of his passing, Reynolds and Brar spoke out on social media. They both took to Instagram to share photos and sweet sentiments.
The trio became roommates in the spring. Judging from their social media presence, they were friends before they became roommates.
In her Instagram post, Sophie Reynolds wrote alongside a picture of her and Boyce.
"My family. my person. my heart. [M]aybe someday I’ll be able to put everything cam was into words, but right now it just hurts a little too much."
She added, "Please, hug everyone you love. I wish I could."
Karan also posted a tribute on Instagram. It was not the first time he had featured his friend, who just celebrated his birthday, on his social media.
"You were the greatest thing to have ever happened to me. i love you so much cam. wish i had more to say right now but i don’t think words will come for a while."
He concluded, "[T]hank you to everyone who sent such kind words my way. know i haven’t been responding but it truly means a lot."
The tragic news broke on Saturday that Disney star Cameron Boyce had passed away. Boyce died in his sleep on Saturday, July 6.
The actor suffered from epilepsy throughout his short life of only 20 years. It is believed that at the time of his death, the "Descendents" and "Grown Ups" star suffered a fatal seizure. His roommate reportedly found him unresponsive and when paramedics arrived they could not revive him.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. He dealt with seizures triggered by his epilepsy. However, he pushed through his condition to achieve his dreams as an actor.
However, now the news has been reported that an autopsy was performed on Monday. Officials say a cause of death was deferred pending "further investigation," reported E! News.
His family released a statement after his passing.
It read: "It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron. He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated."
The statement continued, "The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him. We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother."
Cameron was a working actor since age 11. He appeared on the Disney Channel in "Shake it Up," "Austin and Ally," and "Good Luck Charlie."
His breakout role was playing Luke on "Jessie." The show ran for 4 seasons.
Cameron's family said, "The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him."
