A California state lawmaker is asking for an investigation of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for the “unlawful trafficking of migrants.”
DeSantis “illegally trafficked weak migrants throughout state traces” and transported unlawful aliens “unknowingly” to California to attain “low cost political factors,” California Assemblyman Evan Low, a Democrat, stated Tuesday in a written statement.
DeSantis, a Republican, had three dozen unlawful aliens flown from the U.S. southern border with Mexico to the California capital of Sacramento in June, arguing that the state’s sanctuary cities “endorsed and agitated for these kind of open-border insurance policies.”
The Florida governor signed a invoice in February to create what is known as an Unauthorized Alien Transport Program within the state’s Division of Emergency Administration, authorizing $10 million for the 2022-2023 fiscal yr to move unlawful aliens.
