Caitlyn Jenner on President Donald Trump

Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce Jenner who was married to Kris [Kardashian], appeared for a segment on ‘The View’ recently. On the show, she focused on discussing President Donald Trump and LGBT rights.

Since Jenner’s transition to female and Trump being elected as president, she has been very politically active, mostly ‘behind the scenes’. At no surprise, she is a huge advocate for equal rights for the LGBT community.

Jenner is an outspoken republican and voted for Donald Trump, which many find very surprising. Earlier this year, she talked on Late Night with Seth Meyers, defending her vote for him. Even though she disagrees with his decisions regarding LGBT equality, she says ‘for the most part’, she is pleased with his other decisions.

On ‘The View’, Jenner reveals that Trump hasn’t yet taken her up on her offer to sit down and talk about LGBT rights, but she is still hopeful. In her opinion, the republicans ‘need help’ in that area and she is ‘here to help’. However, she does mention that she has been able to speak with others in the administration.

When asked about Trump’s lack of response to Pride Month, she stated, “I’ve been disappointed in a few ways. I thought he would be a little bit more outspoken when it came to LGBT issues...He was very open about it at the beginning...I’m a little disappointed; I think it’s a lot of the people around him.”

On the opposing side, many are pleased with Trump's continuous support for the Republican agenda and conservative, Christian values.
