British Singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor just gave birth to her fifth baby. The 39-year-old pop star posted a picture of the new arrival on Instagram with her husband, The Feeling bassist Richard Jones.
She wrote: "He's here! Mickey Jones born today weighing 7lb 1oz and he's absolutely gorgeous. Welcome to our quirky little family, sweet boy. We're so glad you're here safe."
In addition to Mickey, Sophie has four other boys with her husband. Her sons are Sonny, 14; Kit, nine; six-year-old Ray, and two-year-old Jesse.
She recently told ITV talk show host Lorraine that she'll likely "call it a day" with her fifth child. That means Mickey will probably be the baby of the family.
"I think five is quite a lot," she said.
The host also asked her if she knew if she'd be having another boy or her first girl. She replied in the negative.
"This one is... a baby, for sure. I don't know what I'm having. I've never found out," she said.
When she was asked whether she and husband Richard had been trying for a girl, Sophie jokingly replied, "Obviously, we're trying for a boy."
A minute later, she answered more seriously, denying that she was only having another child to have a girl.
"No, I would hate for any of my sons to think that they were an attempt to be someone else. They are all very wanted and very different... I will accept whoever is on their way."
She addressed the same conjecture on her Twitter after she announced Mickey's birth. In reply to a Sun headline, she said, "I did nothing of the sort. I’ve only ever wanted whatever babies I’ve been lucky enough to have."
Congratulations to Sophie, Richard, and their four sons on the new addition. May God bless and guide their family!
