British Prime Minister Theresa May recently sent a powerful congratulatory message to President Donald Trump.
Prime Minister May and President Trump recently had a phone call, where the British leader congratulated the president on the safe return of three US citizens who had been held in a prison in North Korea.
Three American citizens were released from North Korea and welcomed back home to the United States by President Trump.
"It's like a dream, and we are very, very happy," Kim Dong-chul, a pastor in his early 60s, told the president, according to Christian Breaking News. "We were treated in many different ways. For me, I had to do a lot of labor. But when I got sick, I was also treated by them."
The BBC reported that the detainees that were released seemed, at least at first glance, to be in reasonable health. They were smiling and waving upon their arrival back to the United States. The three Americans thanked God, their family, and all of their friends for their support and prayers while they were away.
The White House claims that the three Americans were released as a gesture of goodwill ahead of a much-anticipated meeting with Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, which Trump announced will take place in Singapore on June 12.
Prime Minister May also reiterated her support for the previous nuclear deal, a landmark achievement of the Obama administration. Although she did discuss with President Trump the potential impact of implementing new sanctions against firms doing business with Iran.
Trump claimed earlier this week that he would revive U.S. economic sanctions on Iran, which would penalize foreign firms doing business with Tehran, as he pulls the United States out of the Obama administration's landmark nuclear deal.
“The prime minister raised the potential impact of U.S. sanctions on those firms which are currently conducting business in Iran,” her spokeswoman said, according to Reuters. “They agreed for talks to take place between our teams.”
