Getting married should be one of the best things that ever happens to a young couple. It's a wonderful time for families to come together and celebrate the union of the husband and wife as they set off to build their new life with one another.
One of the biggest wedding traditions is to have a beautiful cake to cut, and for guests to enjoy. However, one bride was in for the shock of her life after slicing into her cake on the big day.
"A humiliated bride was reduced to tears after finding her 'wedding cake' had been made out of polystyrene foam. Shine Tamayo, 26, and partner Jhon Chen, 40, had forked out more than 140,000 pesos (£2,100) for food and decorations for their ceremony last month. But after they left the church in Pasig City, the Philippines, they found the caterer had failed to deliver," reported the Mirror.
The couple was forced to carry food from a nearby restaurant to feed their guests. However, there was no cake to be found after realizing their own cake was also a fraud! The bride was said to be humiliated. It was sure to be a horrible act that would always remain in their memories.
"Police examined the wedding cake, pictures of the food, as well as the payments that Shine and her husband Jhon had made to the wedding coordinator. Officers from the Pasig City Police Station confirmed the employee had been arrested on suspicion of Estafa - a form of fraud - and released," reported the Mirror.
