For most women, getting married is one of the happiest days in their entire life. Many brides spend months preparing all the details for their wedding and making sure the entire event goes off without a hitch.
Now, one bridal party story is making headlines thanks to the unique request that one wife-to-be made to her bridesmaid. It's caused quite a bit of controversy online.
“I got married three weeks ago and one of my bridesmaids is about 7 months pregnant (let's call her Kate),” the Redditor wrote. “Kate's belly was easily accommodated into the dress style because it had quite a flowy skirt with a fitted bust,” she claimed.
However, that's when the bride decided to make a request.
“I asked her to stop holding her hands to show off her belly and to just pose like everyone else,” she said. “I had to remind her a few more times before we'd finished taking the wedding party photos.”
When the newly married woman returned from her honeymoon, she claimed she hadn't heard from her friend at all. She found out through another bridesmaid that the pregnant woman was upset at her request.
She claimed she had spent a lot of money on wedding photos, not maternity shots. She put the story online and asked the internet what was right or wrong. Many people gave her varying opinions.
“It seems like you’re not very sympathetic to your friend here, and that’s why I think you’re [wrong] on this one… I do think your friend is right to be upset,” wrote one critic.
“Did you call Kate out in front of everyone for posing like this? If she's already feeling self-conscious about how she looks in the dress you chose for her and then you call her out publicly, you're really being a bridezilla,” another chimed in.
