The Christmas season is a busy time in America. Across the country, millions of people are traveling to be with family and friends and to celebrate the holiday.
For one American city, Christmas will be a lot safer this year. Police have just announced they have stopped an ISIS terrorist from carrying out a Christmas Day massacre at an iconic American tourist spot.
According to reports, The FBI said Thursday it had arrested a man for allegedly planning a Christmas Day terror attack in San Francisco.
"The suspect, Everitt Aaron Jameson, planned to target Pier 39, a popular tourist spot in the city to inflict mass casualties," according to The Hill.
Apparently, the attacker had been in communication with an undercover law enforcement official who was using as an ISIS operative. He said he planned to use firearms and vehicles to kill as many people as possible on the pier.
"Jameson also said he would like to use explosives to "funnel" people on the crowded pier into a smaller area, according to the agent. McKinney also said Jameson claimed he did not need an escape plan because he was ready to die," according to The Hill.
The agent told the terrorist to hold off on the attack until "getting approval from higher-up ISIS terrorists." At that moment, officials arrested Jameson.
