North Carolina has been under persecution lately from numerous business and political entities after it passed a law clarifying that people should use public restrooms that match their biological sex regardless of "gender identity." One of the latest boycotts against the state was NBA Commissioner Adam Silver's decision to move the 2016 All-Star Game to China instead and have the 2017 All-Star Game in New Orleans.
Outspoken North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory, who is known for not easily backing down, blasted Silver by pointing out a major flaw in his plan.
According to the governor's official site, McCrory said:
"According to his own statements, Commissioner Silver has no credibility in telling America that he's more 'comfortable' playing a basketball game in the People's Republic of China with its oppressive human rights record, rather than the 9th most populous state in the U.S.A.," said Communications Director Josh Ellis. "This is another classic example of politically-correct hypocrisy gone mad. We are proud that Louisiana has joined 21 other states that are fighting for basic privacy expectations for our children and families in school restrooms, locker rooms and shower facilities."
