Blind grandma who thought she was receiving flowers ends up holding his grandson for the first time

Grandparents will never forget the moment of meeting their grandchild for the first-time. It’s a time that brings about feelings of joy and excitement, and that’s exactly what this grandma felt when she met her grandson.

To make the occasion more special, the child’s father decided to introduce his baby on grandma’s birthday. It was the best part, she didn’t even know it was happening.

Grandma is visually impaired, so her son was capable of pretending that he was bringing flowers over for her birthday. But what he really had for her was her precious grandchild.

Grandma broke down in tears when she realized what was in her arms. It was instant love and grandma held on tightly to the baby. Even though they had only met, the baby boy already held a large part of her heart.

Speaking of grandparents, here’s another happy story you wouldn’t want to miss.

Mary Pine, 95 years old, lives in an assisted-living facility. Because of the pandemic, she and her brother, Bob Taylor, 84, haven’t seen each other in five years. They still make it a point to call each other every single day.

They last saw each other when Mary surprised Bob at his Atlanta, Georgia home.

Mary Pine and Bob Taylor meeting again after five years apart

Last year, on Mary’s birthday on July 4, Bob decided it was his sister’s turn to be surprised. With the help of his granddaughters, Morgan Taylor and Kenzie Hardin, the trio planned their trip to Mary’s care facility in Ambler, Pennsylvania.

Kenzie lived in Florida, so flying together wasn’t an option. Instead, she flew to Atlanta and the couple drove 13 hours to Pennsylvania. They stopped only for gas and toilet breaks.

On July 4, the staff at Mary’s assisted living facility prepared for the surprise. They called her to a room where family members were waiting. They called her into a room where family members were waiting.

They wished her a happy birthday once she was inside. Mary’s jaw dropped upon seeing Bob come out, and her tears started to fall. The two shared a long embrace as Mary continued to sob on Bob’s shoulder.

Mary said it was the best present she had ever received.

“I’m so thankful my family worked together to pull this amazing surprise off,” she said. “It was so great seeing all of them.”
