On Wednesday, May 30, the sad news was revealed that 38-year-old Blake Painter has passed away. Painter was a former star of Discovery Channel’s documentary series “Deadliest Catch.”
TMZ originally broke the news after law enforcement confirmed the death. According to reports, officials discovered Painter’s body on Friday, May 25, in his home in Oregon.
Reports claimed that a friend of the former boat captain hadn’t heard from Painter in multiple days and became concerned. After police went to Painter’s house to investigate, they determined that he had likely been dead for many days prior to finding him.
At this point, foul play is not suspected. However, no further information about the official cause of death will be revealed until an autopsy and toxicology report are conducted.
“Deadliest Catch” is a popular TV show which documents the lives of fisherman working in Alaska on some of the most dangerous waters in the world. Painter appeared on the show during Season 2 and Season 3 when it was first rising in popularity. Now, the show has reportedly won 16 Emmys.
Within an hour after the sad news broke, fans began reaching out on social media to share their condolences.
