One of the biggest names in sports has just received some bitter news. According to reports, Tim Tebow has been sent to the minor league camp for the New York Mets.
The news comes after Tebow failed to hit a single pitch in 4 chances at the plate. In 7 games, Tebow has had 11 strikeouts.
Tebow is best known for winning the Heisman Trophy in 2007 and for a successful career int he NFL. He is an amazing role model and outspoken Christian who has inspired countless people around the globe.
"I'll just continue to work in all the areas we've been working and making progress. That's really the focus - to continue the process and the journey and keep working," Tebow said to reporters following the game.
Some folks questioned if Tebow would return to the major leagues. The Mets GM said he believes Tebow can definitely play in the majors, but it's just a matter of progression his skills and making him a great player. Tim has his eyes on the big leagues, but for now, he is taking it day-by-day.
"It's definitely the goal, and we'll be putting in work every day to one day get that opportunity, but you can't just be focused on the end result. It's got be on every day in the process," Tebow said. "It's having a long-term mindset with a here-and-now focus."
