Arguably the most famous U.S. Evangelical leader of all time, Billy Graham, has passed away. The news broke late in February that Graham died at his home surrounded by his family.
Graham was 99 years old at the time of his death. He had been battling illnesses and health issues in recent months. Please join us in praying for the entire Graham family.
During Graham's life, millions of people were helped to find Christ. Graham was able to reach people around the world and was a longtime adviser to many U.S. presidents.
"The Billy Graham Evangelist Association put his lifetime audience at nearly 215 million people in more than 185 countries and territories, with 'hundreds of millions more' viewing him on television, video, film and webcasts," reported Fox News.
However, in the hours after his death, people are talking about the last Facebook post that was published on Graham's profile. It is an amazing lesson for all Christians to read and understand.
"If you went for a walk in the woods, but then decided to wander off the path, and found yourself surrounded by a thicket of thorns and poison ivy, who would you blame? Would you blame the person who built the path? No, of course not. Instead, you’d blame yourself if you were honest, because you alone were responsible for wandering from the path," he wrote.
In a far deeper way, this is what happens when we decide to leave God out of our lives. For a time, it may seem like wandering away from Him doesn’t make any difference; it may even seem easier and freer. But eventually, it catches up with us—just as wandering off that path and into the thicket caught up with you," concluded Graham's post.
