Billy Graham Once Told Reporter What He Wanted the First Line of His Obituary to Say

Arguably the most famous U.S. Evangelical leader of all time, Billy Graham, has passed away. The news broke Wednesday morning that Graham died at his home surrounded by his family.

Graham was 99 years old at the time of his death. He had been battling illnesses and health issues in recent months. Please join us in praying for the entire Graham family.

In looking back on his life, it is easy to be filled with admiration and wonder for Billy Graham. He devoted his life to the lord and advocated to everyone that we should be trying to live our best life each and every day.

“I urge each of you to invest your lives, not just spend them,” he said. “Each of us is given the exact same amount of seconds, minutes, and hours per day as anyone else. The difference is how we redeem them. … You cannot count your days, but you can make your days count."

One time, Graham was even asked by a reporter about his own obituary. When the reporter asked Graham what he wanted the evening line to say, Graham replied with a truly amazing answer.

“That he was faithful and that he had integrity,” he replied.

During Graham's life, millions of people were helped to find Christ. Graham was able to reach people around the world and was a longtime adviser to many U.S. presidents.

"The Billy Graham Evangelist Association put his lifetime audience at nearly 215 million people in more than 185 countries and territories, with 'hundreds of millions more' viewing him on television, video, film and webcasts," reported Fox News.
