Bill Cosby, American comedy actor best known for his star role in ‘The Cosby Show’ was on trial for 3 criminal counts of sexual assault related to incidents that occurred years ago. After days in the courtroom, the jury failed to reach a consensus, even after the judge urged them to come to a conclusion.
Ten jurors believe he’s guilty, while two jurors are standing behind his innocence. If Cosby is convicted on all 3 accounts, which has a maximum sentence of 10-years in prison, Cosby could spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Following his trial, USA Today reports Cosby is ready to ‘get back to work’.
Cosby’s publicist, Andrew Wyatt, released the following statement:
“We’re now planning town halls and we’re going to be coming to this city (Birmingham) sometime in July … to talk to young people because this is bigger than Bill Cosby. This issue can affect any young person, especially young athletes of today, and they need to know what they’re facing when they’re hanging out and partying, when they’re doing certain things that they shouldn’t be doing. And it also affects married men.”
However, since then, reports revealed this most likely will not happen and Cosby does not want to jeopardize anything.
