The sad news was confirmed on Wednesday, October 31, that a popular contestant from "The Voice" has passed away. Beverly McClellan died after a long battle with cancer at the age of 49.

McClellan, the standout contestant who was on Christina Aguilera's team in the first season of "The Voice," had been battling stage 4 endometrial cancer. According to reports, her cancer had spread to her bladder, colon, and intestines.

Jeff Benjamin said, "Sad news: Hearing that Beverly McClellan of @NBCTheVoice fame has passed away after her battle with cancer. She represented and embodied the original goal of the show and her legacy will live on. She was 49. Rest In Peace."
