The Democratic Party is already busy trying to figure out who will be their chosen nominee for the 2020 Presidential election. They are desperate to unseat President Trump and will do anything to get him out of the White House.

In a recent Senate election, Ted Cruz was challenged by Beto O'Rourke in Texas. Beto was a surprisingly strong Senate candidate who lost to Ted by a small margin. A lot of people were surprised by how close the race was.

"Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas) is considered one of the top Democratic contenders for the White House in 2020 even among more well-known potential hopefuls," according to a Harvard CAPS/Harris poll released exclusively to The Hill.

Since losing to Ted, Beto hasn't faded into the abyss. His team has been actively looking to the future. Many Democratic leaders, and supports, are also eyeing the young man for a Presidential nomination.

"O’Rourke, who earned a groundswell of national attention in 2018, was ranked third with 7 percent of Democratic and independent voters backing him, garnering more support than other frequently touted potential challengers," reported The Hill.

Now, Beto is opening up about his own future. He is clearly leaving the door open about a 2020 run. His comments came during a town hall forum. When asked about his potential run he said, "No decision. No decision on that."

"Whoever is running may very well be running against somebody who has not the slightest respect for our norms, our traditions, civility, dignity, decency and public life," O'Rourke said. "Where you can say anything that you want to from the highest perch of power in this land."

"This is the mother of all tests for this democracy and whether we can run a campaign, have candidates at all levels from school board to the White House who are willing to focus on issues, on our potential, on our promise, on the future instead of our fears, instead of attacking one another personally, instead of going for the most base impulse and instincts among us," he went on to say.
