There's a sad update on the health of the wife of reality TV bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman. Beth Chapman is in a medically induced coma, her family said according to CBS.
Beth Chapman is in the intensive care unit of Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu, CBS affiliate KGMB reported Sunday. Dog tweeted out a request for prayers for her.
A representative for the family released a statement Saturday night saying that only immediate family have been given access to the 51-year-old.
The family asked the general public to "please pray for Beth" while also sending "sincere thanks to everyone for their prayers throughout Beth's battle with cancer," the statement said.
Beth has been fighting cancer since November 2018 when a previous throat cancer return. She had surgery in 2018 to remove the cancer, but she was hospitalized in April to remove fluid that had accumulated in her lungs.
Her husband posted a statement about it on his Facebook, according to a local Fox affiliate.
“Beth was hospitalized Saturday due to an accumulation of fluid in her lungs,” the statement read. “Doctors performed an emergency procedure to alleviate pressure that had built up.”
The statement continued, “She is now at home resting with her husband. She and [Duane] are so grateful for the thoughts and prayers from their fans. Keep them coming.”
