Summer vacations are what dreams are made of. Each year, millions of people across the globe flock to local beaches to escape the heat and to relax in the warm sand.

However, for one lady on the Jersey shore, things did not go as planned. A 67-year-old woman was impaled by a beach umbrella in a freak accident!

"Seaside Heights Police Det. Steve Korman told the Asbury Park Press the 67-year-old woman from London was on the beach around 4:30 p.m. when a portion of an aluminum umbrella pierced her right ankle and was driven completely through due to the "force of the wind," reported Fox News.

First responders were quick to arrive and assess the situation. It was finally determined that the only way to free the woman from the umbrella was to cut her free with the use of bolt cutters.

"There was a strong gust of wind, there were a couple umbrellas flying," the person wrote. "One of the corners of a random one went THROUGH HER LEG! That could have been me!" wrote one witness.

The woman was transported to a local hospital. At this time, her condition has not been released. Please join us in praying for her as she tries to recover and heal.
