It is truly a sad day for fans of the Bay City Rollers. The iconic 1960s music group has last their founding member.
According to reports, Alan Longmuir has passed away. He was 70 years old at the time of his death and died while surrounded by his family in Scotland.
"His family said in a Twitter statement that he died peacefully surrounded by loved ones. No other details were given. He had been receiving medical treatment in Edinburgh. 'He was an extraordinary man with an extraordinary heart,' Longmuir’s family said. 'He brought so much love and kindness to everyone he met, and he leaves a huge hole in our family,'" wrote to Page Six.
The BCR was formed in the late 1960s. Their catchy tunes and upbeat music quickly drew a big fan base and they went on to be an extremely successful performing group!
"The band had a fanatical teen following and sold more than 100 million records. They split up in 1978 and reunited in 2015 for a string of sold-out performances," reported Page Six.
Please join us in praying for the friends and family of Mr. Longmuir. We ask for God's healing grace to surround and comfort them through this sad time.
