In recent days, a controversial book titled “Fire and Fury” has been the subject of various media headlines. The book, which tells the story “inside the Trump White House,” was originally set to be released on January 9th, but it hit the shelves early.

Several quotes from the book were leaked prior to the release date including the comments by former Breitbart News executive chairman Steve Bannon. Bannon called certain actions of President Trump and his administration “treasonous” and “unpatriotic.”

Although several others have come to the President’s defense, including ex-White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci, the controversy continues to escalate. The book reportedly presents the Trump administration in a negative light.

President Trump released a statement in response on Thursday evening. Trump assured that he never spoke to the author, Michael Wolff, about the book and did not even give authorization for Wolff to have access inside of the White House.

Trump stated, “I authorized Zero access to White House (actually turned him down many times) for author of phony book! I never spoke to him for book. Full of lies, misrepresentations and sources that don’t exist. Look at this guy’s past and watch what happens to him and Sloppy Steve!”

On Friday morning, Wolff appeared in an interview on TODAY where he responded to Trump’s remarks. Wolff is not concerned about his credibility being questioned by the President because, according to him, Trump has “less credibility than anyone who walks on Earth.”
