R&B singer/ songwriter Ashanti announced last week that she’s creating a children’s book. At the time, this was great news. MTO News now learns that there is some controversy around ‘Shanti’s new book.
Jamilah Thomas-Bigelow, another author, is accused by the singer of taking the idea for her children’s novel.
The author claims that it is not the titles of the books that are identical, but the entire plot. Jamillah’s story is about a little girl upset by how other children in her class cannot pronounce her name.

It gets worse. Ashanti’s publisher suggested that Ashanti’s book would be a good choice if you liked Jamilah Thompkins Bigelow.
