On Friday, June 8, the world was shocked to learn that famous chef and travel expert, Anthony Bourdain, had passed away. The 61-year-old star died by suicide while working in France on a CNN segment.
Authorities sadly found Bourdain dead in his hotel room. As soon as the news emerged, fans all over the world were grieving the loss. On Saturday, several other sad details were released about Bourdain’s death.
When celebrities pass away, the grief is felt globally. However, sometimes it is easy to forget about those who were closest to the person- those who are grieving the loss the most. It is those people who we, as Christians, should be praying for.
Not only was Anthony Bourdain a professional chef, author, and travel expert, he was also a father to 11-year-old Ariane. Recently, Ariane’s mother and Bourdain’s ex-wife, Ottavia, spoke out on social media regarding the young girl.
Ottavia revealed that Ariane performed a song on stage only a couple of days after her father’s passing, bringing tears to all that knew about the heartbreaking situation.
Ottavia said, “Our little girl had her concert today. She was amazing. So strong and brave. She wore the boots you bought her. I hope you are having a good trip, wherever you are.”
Anthony Bourdain and Ottavia were married in 2007. Later that year, Ariane was born. In 2016, the couple decided to split and ended up getting an official divorce in 2017.
At the time of his death, Anthony was dating Asia Argento. After his death, his girlfriend released a touching statement on social media.
She said, “Anthony gave all of himself in everything that he did. His brilliant, fearless spirit touched and inspired so many, and his generosity knew no bounds. He was my love, my rock, my protector.”
Please continue praying for those closest to Anthony Bourdain, as well as those who have felt the loss globally. We live in a difficult world and we need the love of Jesus to touch every heart. Let us know if you are praying!
