Anne HecheAfter Friday’s August 5th car crash and subsequent fire, she was left in a state of coma.
“At this time she is in extreme critical condition she has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention,” a representative for Heche, 53, told Us WeeklyMonday, August 8 “She is in a coma and has not regained consciousness since shortly after the accident.”
Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the statement. Use on Friday that the driver — who they would not identify — was allegedly speeding while traveling eastbound on Preston Way in Los Angeles. The blue Mini Cooper ran off of the road as it approached the intersection at Preston and Walgrove. The car collided around 11:15 a.m. PT with a house at 1700 Walgrove. One woman was home, however she was in her back yard and was not injured.
The vehicle was completely destroyed by flames, and the driver suffered severe burns. Los Angeles Fire Department posted a video on Saturday morning confirming that the vehicle went 30 feet into the home. The fire was extinguished and the home was declared safe to enter. It took 59 firefighters nearly an hour to extinguish the flames.
LAFD reported that the driver was conscious, able to communicate with firefighters and was being treated before being transported to the trauma center. In photos taken by TMZThe individual, identified by the outlet as Heche, can be seen wearing charred clothing while being stretched on a stretcher and covered with a white cloth.
In the beginning, All RiseStar was reported to have stabilized. “Anne is currently in stable condition,” her rep told Us on Saturday, August 6. “Her family and friends ask for your thoughts and prayers and to respect her privacy during this difficult time.”
Heche’s ex James TupperShe asked her fans to send well wishes to Atlas, the 13-year-old son of Heche and Atlas, 53, on Friday night. “Thoughts and prayers for this lovely woman, actress and mother tonight anneheche 💔 we love you,” the 57-year-old captioned a snap of Heche with their child.
The Men in TreesThe costars met in 2006, and were together for more than a decade before their 2018 split. Atlas was not the only one Heche shared with his ex-husband. Heche also shares Homer, a 19-year-old son. Coleman Laffoon.
Peter Thomas Roth, who was linked to Heche in late 2021, posted a tribute to the actress on Saturday, writing via Instagram, “My thoughts and #prayers are with @anneheche for a speedy and full recovery ❤️.”
