Last night, America picked the latest winner of “America’s Got Talent.” In the end, the top two contestants were pre-teens. 12-year-old ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer competed up against 10-year-old singer Angelica Hale.
America decided on Farmer, and she couldn’t have been happier. When the announcement happened, she immediately burst into tears.
Farmer, who is from Oklahoma City, won $1 million dollars. She also gets to headline an appearance at a Las Vegas Show.
The pre-teen's win came on a record night for “America’s Got Talent.” The battle the top 5 brought in 52 million votes.
"It’s crazy. I’m just so happy and overcome with joy and luckiness that the man upstairs blessed me with this title. I’m so, so happy,” Darci Lynne told reporters on the America’s Got Talent red carpet.
Hale congratulated her friend and opponent in a post on Instagram. The runner-up was also a fan favorite with her story of overcoming a serious strep infection that caused multiple organ failure that eventually necessitated a kidney transplant.
