For Tim Tebow, the number 3:16 has had a special meaning. It is the number of the chapter and verse in the Gospel of John in the Bible — the third chapter and sixteenth verse — that is "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, what whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." So 3:16, which Tim wore painted on his face when he played in college, became known to football fans across the country.
What is amazing is what happened in one of the key games in Tim's career. He was playing for the Denver Broncos in 2012. He had not been slated to start as quarterback, but due to an injury to the starter Tim ended up starting and led the Denver Broncos to several victories.
At the end of the season, the Denver Broncos had made it to the playoffs following several exciting victories. They went into the playoffs against the Pittsburgh Steelers. One of the criticisms of Tim has always been that he didn't complete enough passes; when in college he was known for running much of the time.
But against the Pittsburgh Steelers, he had an amazing game. When the stats for the game were compiled, guess how many passing yards Tim had?
And guess how many average yards he had per completed pass?
Is that coincidence? We will leave that to you to decide!
