Amy Schumer welcomed her first child on the same day as Meghan Markle announced the arrival of her first baby. The comedian and actress announced the news on her Instagram.
The actress, who is 37 years old just like the Duchess of Sussex, gave birth on Sunday, May 5. She announced on the news on Instagram Monday alongside a hospital photo of herself and Fischer in the hospital with their newborn son.
“10:55 pm last night. Our royal baby was born,” she captioned the snap. The caption was a nod to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry who also welcomed a boy some hours later.
On her way to the hospital, Schumer stopped at the MET where people were setting up for the MET Gala on Monday night. She shared a photo of herself posing in sweats in front of the historic building.
She wrote, "Met look this year. Last night on the way to the hospital."
Schumer revealed her pregnancy last October eight months after marrying her cookbook author and chef husband. Her pregnancy news came just days after Markle and Harry revealed they were also expecting their first child.
Schumer went on to incorporate the royal couple into her announcement, photoshopping her and her husband’s face over a photo of the royal couple.
Like Kate Middleton, Schumer suffered from Hyperemesis Gravidarum, which is a severe form of morning sickness and vomiting throughout pregnancy. It often lasts beyond the first trimester.
Schumer was open about her difficult pregnancy. She frequently posted about it on social media.
Congratulations to the couple on their new arrival!
