Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a 12-year-old girl who they say was last seen being lured into a car by a man. The teen is developmentally delayed but is still high functioning.

According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, authorities say that Raeanna Rosencrans was walking home from school in Grand Junction, Colorado Wednesday afternoon when someone witnessed a driver pulling up next to her and calling out her name.

Raeanna was last seen getting into the car. Grand Junction is near the Utah border, about 200 miles west of Denver and Colorado Springs.

According to Newsweek, local authorities said, “Detectives with the Grand Junction Police Department, as well as partnering agencies, have worked through the night, and are continuing to work to follow up on tips and develop leads into the whereabouts of Raeanna Rosencrans. We appreciate the assistance of the public and media in continuing to share information about this investigation.”

"This is being investigated as a possible abduction," the Grand Junction Police also said, according to FOX 31 Denver.

Police elevated the missing child alert for her to an AMBER Alert after she was not found by the end of the day on Wednesday. No clues have been revealed about her possible whereabouts or about whether or not she’s still in the state.

Raeanna is white and has light brown/dark blonde hair and blue eyes. She is 5 feet, 1 inches tall and weighs 137 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black shirt with white designs, black jeans, and Adidas shoes. She was carrying a black and white backpack with Southwest designs.

Her suspected abductor has been described as a white, bald man in his late 40s to early 50s. He’s reportedly five feet and seven or eight inches tall and is of medium build. He was wearing a green button-down shirt.

The vehicle he was seen driving has been described as a boxy green sedan. Police later found the vehicle abandoned, according to a press release.

Around noon on Thursday, the Grand Junction police announced that they're looking for Jody Haskin, a person of interest in the case. Haskin is a registered sex offender who is currently wanted on a warrant for the alleged sexual assault of a child. He is also Raeanna's stepfather and has no parental custody of her.

It's unclear if police are convinced Haskin is Raeanna's abductor, but they are asking for the public's help in finding him. He is described as white with balding hair, brown eyes, and glasses. He is 6 feet tall and 215 pounds.

If you have any information on their possible whereabouts, please call 911. Please keep a lookout for them, share this alert, and pray for Reaanna’s safe return! In missing child news, police are still searching for an abducted two-year-old who has been taken across state lines.
