Amber Alert Issued for 1-Year-Old Boy Taken at Gunpoint

UPDATE 9/1 at 9 a.m. ET: the abandoned vehicle previously thought to belong to the suspect is not his. Please be on the lookout for the vehicle.

ORIGINAL: On Thursday, a 1-year-old boy was taken at gunpoint from Adams County, Colorado. An Amber Alert has been issued for him.

The boy has been identified as Zahid Adams. The toddler was with his mother, Samantha Adams, on Thursday morning.

At 11:36 a.m., Samantha's ex-boyfriend, Maurico Venzor-Gonzalez, reportedly took the child and Samantha by force in the Denver metro area.

Samantha is described as 5-feet-2 and 160 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

Maurico was driving a primer gray Honda 4-door with CO license plate EVQ410. It was last seen southbound on I-25 in the Pueblo area. 

The vehicle was later abandoned in Pueblo. Zahid, his mother, and the suspect, however, have not been located.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5-feet-6, and 129 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

The man was last seen wearing a black baseball hat. Other than that, it is unknown what he was last wearing.
