One of the stars of the VH1 reality show "Black Ink Crew" has lost her young son to cancer. Allison Monroe posted the sad news on her Instagram.

Monroe shared that her 14-year-old son, Joshua, had lost his battle with brain cancer. He had been battling it for many years.

“My baby boy is gone,” Allison shared in a tear-jerking post. “As I smell the tee shirt you were wearing yesterday, my eyes swell up with tears. Not just tears of sadness. But tears of joy! Just knowing that yesterday morning you were able to walk and talk again in heaven. I asked you yesterday to come visit me in my sleep. You didn’t come last night. No rush baby boy I know I’ll see you soon. This s--t feels fake. I love and miss you so bad Joshua.”

Allison, best known for her role as fellow co-star Sky Day’s best friend on the show that follows a Harlem tattoo empire, has been very open about her son’s fight with the illness since finding out four years ago about the cancer diagnosis.

Fans of Monroe have followed her son's cancer journey. Joshua and his mom had gone through hard times and good, but she was full of prayer throughout it all.

Our condolences go out to Monroe and family and friends. May God give them peace and comfort amidst this tragedy. Please also join us in praying for Dog the Bounty Hunter's wife Beth Chapman, who is also battle cancer. She was recently hospitalized for an urgent procedure.
