Kate MiddletonShe is her only sister Pippa clearly enjoy a very loving sisterly bond, but that doesn’t stop the two from being compared to each other whenever they attend the same event. Pippa is often seen taking the spotlight away from her older sister, just as she did at the 2011 royal marriage. Here’s just a few of those times.
The Infamous Bridesmaid Dress
Naturally, the biggest unintentional upstaging happened on one of the biggest days of Kate Middleton’s life. The world swooned when she married Prince William in 2011. More specifically, they noticed Pippa’s derriere as she held Kate’s train while they ascended the stairs to Westminster Abbey.
The pearl buttons at the back of her gown seemed to draw the eyes down, which sparked a media frenzy for the younger Middleton. It’s now become a moment representative of every bride who’s been upstaged by someone else on her big day.
That wasn’t the only time Pippa showed up her sister in public, though the next example isn’t quite fair to Kate.
Sisterly Role Reversal
When it was Pippa’s turn to walk down the aisle for her 2017 wedding to husband James Matthews, Kate seemingly made sure all eyes would be on her younger sister. She wore a muted pink dress with long flowing sleeves and a long, puffy skirt. Pippa looked stunning in her cap-sleeved, high neck lace gown.
Prince Louis’ Christening
Next up is the sisters’ attendance at Kate’s younger son Prince Louis’ christening. Kate looks proud in her white knee-length dress. Pippa was much more vibrant in her pale blue dress. The modest, sleeveless dress covered Pippa’s neck and wrists and was matched with a bright blue bonnet.
The dress covered more than just Pippa’s neck and wrists. It also covered up her growing baby bump that was on full display a few short months later when she and Kate attended the wedding of Kate’s royal in-law Princess Eugenie.
The Middleton Sisters At Princess Eugenie’s Wedding
It was a windy Windsor day, but that wouldn’t keep the Middleton sisters from dressing their best for the wedding of the year. Pippa looked serene wearing her forest green, midi-length dress. Despite the wind that day her longer hemline kept her ankles covered despite the wind. Kate, however, struggled more that day.
Kate wore a similar style A line dress with long sleeves. However, Kate had to battle with the wind to keep the skirts from blowing above her head and protect their modesty. The result is almost Marilyn Monroe-like. Although it could have been embarrassing, Kate managed to handle it with the humor & good-naturedness that she is known for in public.
Middleton Vs Middleton at Wimbledon
We finally get to see the latest photo of the sisters together in public. Kate wore a dark green frock with buttons at the front, while Pippa wore a more casual and flirty white and blue sundress. Both sisters are fashionably stylish and extremely stylish. But our attention keeps going to Pippa. We guess it’s easier to share the spotlight with someone you truly adore.
