Chrissy Teigen is a mom all over again. On Wednesday she announced through social media that she is the proud mother of a second child. Sources confirm that the baby is a healthy boy.
Their new son helps complete the family of four, including father John Legend, and joining Luna Simone Stephens, who was born two years ago. Following the birth of Luna, Teigen,32, suffered from postpartum depression.
She gave birth to Luna in 2016 and recently voiced concern that she might suffer from it again with the birth of her son. But she spoke recently that she felt better able to handle it if it came.
"Do I worry about it with this little boy? I do,” she said, according to E News. “But I also know that when it does happen—if it does—I'm so ready for it. I have the perfect people around me for it.”
She added, “That's why I stand for a real core group of people around me."
Whether Luna is aware that she now has a baby brother is something to be determined. Teigen recently commented on whether she felt her daughter was ready to be a big sister after announcing the pregnancy last November.
"We know there's a baby in there and she can say 'baby' but I don't really know if she knows what it means for her mother to be carrying another child and for that child to be her little sibling," the singer-songwriter said. "I don't know if she's ready for that yet."
Teigen and husband John Legend sought out medical help to grow their family. Last year, the couple agreed to undergo an embryo transfer so they could get pregnant again. They started out with 20 embryos. One of those embryos turned out to be Luna; the second resulted in their newborn son.
