It’s been over a year since ABC canceled “Last Man Standing.” When Fox picked up the popular sitcom, fans and crew alike were ecstatic. Tim Allen was left to wonder whether his conservative views were the reason why it was canceled.
Excitement for the show’s return on Fox was felt far and wide.
“Excited? Team LMS was in the sixth inning, ahead by four runs, stands were packed and then for no reason, they call off the game,” Allen told Fox News.
“It leaves you sitting in the dugout, holding a bat and puzzled. Now we get the news from Fox that it’s time to get back out on that diamond … I’m excited!”
But now news has surfaced that two of the original cast members won’t be returning to the show for Season 7. Both Molly Ephraim and Flynn Morrison have left the show.
Ephraim played Mandy, daughter to Tim Allen’s Mike Baxter, and Morrison played his grandson. According to Deadline, both roles are in the process of being recast.
“Last Man Standing,” before it was canceled, was one of ABC’s most popular shows. It stars Allen as a married father of three girls who tries to maintain his masculinity in a world increasingly dominated by women.
TV Web reports that the rest of the crew – Tim Allen, Nancy Travis, Jonathan Adams, Amanda Fuller, Christopher Sanders and Jordan Masterson, along with co-star Hector Elizondo, will be returning. However, Kaitlyn Dever, who plays the daughter Eve, is still in negotiations at this time and it is uncertain whether she will return.
The show will air at its usual time slot Friday nights at 8 p.m.
