A heartbreaking loss. Mary Mara, an actress, was tragically killed in an apparent drowning on Sunday 26 June at the age of 61.
The Ray Donovan alum’s body was discovered by first responders in St. Vincent, New York, on Sunday morning, according to a press release from the New York State Police on Monday, June 27. Mara had been swimming at the St. Lawrence River on the border between the United States and Canada, and it flows into Lake Ontario.
“The victim’s body showed no signs of foul play and was transported to the Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office,” the police said in the statement. Authorities will still conduct an autopsy in order to officially confirm Mara’s cause of death, even though a preliminary investigation revealed that Mara drowned.
“Mary was one of the finest actresses I ever met,” Mara’s manager, Craig Dorfman? Us WeeklyMonday, in a statement. “I still remember seeing her onstage in 1992 in Mad Forest Off-Broadway. She was funny, electric and a true individual. Everyone loved her. She will be missed.”
The Criminal MindsThe alum was visiting Martha Mara, her sister, in St. Vincent. Mary is also survived and loved by her sister Susan Mara, brother Scott Dailey, nephew Christopher Dailey, and stepdaughter Katie Mersola.
